Do You Need Feedback on Your Story?

“One day, you will tell your story of how you overcame what you went through and it will be someone else’s survival guide.” — Brene Brown

We’re often interested in acknowledgement from others when we share stories about ourselves. But is feedback truly necessary to acknowledge someone?

I‘m not much of a feedback person. That’s not because I don’t want to hurt your feelings. It’s because your story is perfect. Exactly the way it is. The way that you are. You don’t need my — nor anyone else’s — critique or opinion on your story.

We’ve all heard the saying ‘diamond in the rough’. It’s a juxtaposition, but also a truth in all of our lives. Diamonds need pressure to be formed. The parts of your story that put the most pressure on you, are the same ones that are turning you into a diamond. This is universal. We are all unique gems; living through the rough.

One story is a unique treasure. Cherish all as such. Share yours as such.
